I do a lot of things that may seem totally unrelated. When I was interviewing @mallenbaker from the UK he did a deep dive on ME before agreeing to be on the show. He said, “Karla I see you’re a coach, a yoga teacher, a health practitioner, you help people with their businesses…..where does this podcast fit in? What’s your purpose for this?”

To me, it all belongs. And it belongs because each and every thing that I do involves helping people become more aware. More aware of their body, their thinking, their surroundings, their life and the bigger picture of society and culture.

Most of us are not even present to the fact that are bodies are unwell. We ignore the subtle and not so subtle signs that it’s time to move more or address a nutritional concern. If we don’t have this awareness, how could we ever skip to thinking about our work, our relationships or the world? That would be destabilizing.

The body is ground zero.

Then we can start thinking about our work and how we make an impact on the world.

Then we can start thinking about our thinking and how we can create better relationships with self, other and our work.

Then we can work to radically transform the world, get involved in politics or help global causes.

But it starts at ground zero. So I do my best to meet people where they’re at.

From getting stuck in the mud and having to carry hanna on my back (because she wore flip flops and socks), to breaking ice, catching runaway chickens on the trees, navigating through the fog, and a hot sauna/ ice dip……it was a good one.

Well, I didn’t get 50 things done today. I was

Well, I didn’t get 50 things done today.
I was up all night helping a barfy little munchkin.

I slept in instead of waking up early and grinding away at my hefty to-do list I created for myself.

I forgot to give my husband the keys to our rental so instead of a sleepy and easy morning at home I had to walk across the island in knee deep mud to the boat on the other side of the island then gave myself an extra hour of unnecessary driving.

Then got the quad stuck in the mud on the way home. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I successfully filmed my scariest podcast to date.

I squeezed in a half assed workout.

I stared blankly at my phone for way too long.

And now the sick one and I are taking a break in the sun that finally showed it’s face.

And everything is right with the world.

Because some days just don’t go as planned, and the world keeps on going.

Tomorrow is another day. It might be a great day where I get a lot done (or I might be barfing next). But this moment right here….is all that really matters. It’s the only thing that’s real. It’s the only moment we hold.

So I graciously let go of the unfinished to-dos, the worry of potential barfs tomorrow and here I sit with the wee one in the sunshine.

Focusing on effort alone stops us from progressing

Focusing on effort alone stops us from progressing towards solutions and growth.

“Is it working?” Is a scary question to ask ourselves because we may have to face that the fact that things are not working.

But it’s better than pretending they are.

I’d rather take the blinders off, close the business, breakup, move on then spend a second wasting this one precious life.

Whether something is an uphill grind or an easy al

Whether something is an uphill grind or an easy alignment is completely dependant on our thinking.

The story we add to our work makes it easy or hard.

Life is work. Work is work. But we make things exponentially HARDER for ourselves when we add in judgment, fear, victim thoughts and other self sabotaging beliefs.

What if it was easy?

What if it’s easy for you to attract the right clients, the right opportunities, the ideal amount of money?

What if it was easy to lose weight, drop the bad habits, quit drinking or heal your relationship?

The problems might be real, but the STRUGGLE is in our head.

I am no longer shocked that it’s easy for me to do what I want, attract what I want and achieve what I want.

My saboteurs were the judge, the victim and the restless. I’m clear on what those voices sound like now so I can weaken their power.

My sage is grateful, forgiving, non-judgmental, courageous and grounded. Together we get a lot done.

And it’s easy. It’s in alignment with how I want to live.

As we get closer to the end of our last 40 Day program, I’ll be announcing our next round before summer. Body, soul, thinking brain….and internal chemistry.
