If you’re in a reactive or negative emotional state, that’s your intuition telling you “it’s time to pivot.” When you’re aligned and on purpose doors will open. Notes after listening to a few sense makers this w Notes after listening to a few sense makers this week including the Shawn Newman podcast with Caylan Ford. Notice the violence out there? I see it too. Cancel culture is a tool for power and nothing else. It doesn’t change people, it doesn’t create a better society and it’s making everything in the world WORSE. More questions need to be asked about most policies and ideologies circling around at the moment. And they’re not “allowed.” I am not saying that all progressives do this nor do I vilify anyone who identifies with progressive values. Far from it. I’m drawing attention to the radical progressive left that seeks POWER over virtue. Like I said in the slides, the right can behave just as badly and I would condemn anyone on the right doing this just the same. Virtue over ideology every single day. This article is about the far left because it’s the left that has grabbed power over politics, the educational sector, the corporate world and big tech. The right simple isn’t doing damage in the same way. I am here for the underdog. Those that are silenced and persecuted and shunned for asking meaningful questions or for having opinions that differ from the majority. Question the mob always. Just because everybody’s doing it, doesn’t make it right (or virtuous). Keep standing up for what is virtuous. I do a lot of things that may seem totally unrelat I do a lot of things that may seem totally unrelated. When I was interviewing @mallenbaker from the UK he did a deep dive on ME before agreeing to be on the show. He said, “Karla I see you’re a coach, a yoga teacher, a health practitioner, you help people with their businesses…..where does this podcast fit in? What’s your purpose for this?” To me, it all belongs. And it belongs because each and every thing that I do involves helping people become more aware. More aware of their body, their thinking, their surroundings, their life and the bigger picture of society and culture. Most of us are not even present to the fact that are bodies are unwell. We ignore the subtle and not so subtle signs that it’s time to move more or address a nutritional concern. If we don’t have this awareness, how could we ever skip to thinking about our work, our relationships or the world? That would be destabilizing. The body is ground zero. Then we can start thinking about our work and how we make an impact on the world. Then we can start thinking about our thinking and how we can create better relationships with self, other and our work. Then we can work to radically transform the world, get involved in politics or help global causes. But it starts at ground zero. So I do my best to meet people where they’re at. It all belongs. Well, I didn’t get 50 things done today. I was Well, I didn’t get 50 things done today. I was up all night helping a barfy little munchkin. I slept in instead of waking up early and grinding away at my hefty to-do list I created for myself. I forgot to give my husband the keys to our rental so instead of a sleepy and easy morning at home I had to walk across the island in knee deep mud to the boat on the other side of the island then gave myself an extra hour of unnecessary driving. Then got the quad stuck in the mud on the way home. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I successfully filmed my scariest podcast to date. I squeezed in a half assed workout. I stared blankly at my phone for way too long. And now the sick one and I are taking a break in the sun that finally showed it’s face. And everything is right with the world. Because some days just don’t go as planned, and the world keeps on going. Tomorrow is another day. It might be a great day where I get a lot done (or I might be barfing next). But this moment right here….is all that really matters. It’s the only thing that’s real. It’s the only moment we hold. So I graciously let go of the unfinished to-dos, the worry of potential barfs tomorrow and here I sit with the wee one in the sunshine. #motherhoodrising #presentmoment #beherenow
